The Nevada Wolfpack held their first scrimmage of the spring last week, and in the midst of encouraging signs comes the stat line of starting QB Colin Kaepernick:
Kaepernick 2-of-9 for 26 yards, 0 TDs, 0 IntThis will just further serve to promote the theory that Kaepernick is not a quarterback, but rather a running back who happens to take snaps.
The team was encouraged with the rushing of RB Luke Lippincott and the receiving of WR Marko Mitchell, both of whom seem to have been in mid-season form. Lippincott caused the Broncos trouble last year, and it looks like he will be a handful again.
Good signs in first spring scrimmage [Nevada athletics]
I absolutely could not believe that Kaepernick torched the Broncos last year. Our defense seemed utterly confused. Kaepernick does not possess the a rocket arm or blazing speed and looks like he weighs about 150 lbs. Double-u tea eff? In fact, in all other games that he played last year after the BSU debacle, he looked pretty much average.
ReplyDeleteFun fact: If Colin "Beanpole" Kaepernick stands perfectly still in the midst of a stiff wind, an observer will note a distinct whistling sound.
Yeah, I feel the same way. I'm not even sure Kaepernick knew how he did it.
ReplyDeleteAt the 3/15 Nevada scrimmage the coaches had the defense dress in blue and orange. Kap threw for 3 TDs and rushed for 1!
ReplyDeletea bad QB in the first scrimmage, a bad D in the second scrimmage, what's next? One-hop long snaps and field goals kicked into the backs of the linemen?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, we are happy for "Kap"...hapy that our rematch might not be a blowout.
