Wednesday: Links with youth

Story of the day:

Scandrick outperforms expectations, first round picks [FOX Sports.com]

The rave reviews on former Boise State CB Orlando Scandrick in the Dallas Cowboys' minicamp continue to flood in. This time, FOX Sports' John Czarnecki tells us that Scandrick was the best rookie corner in camp.
Scandrick, a fifth-round pick from Boise State, out-played Mike Jenkins in a recent mini-camp.
Jenkins was a first-round pick by the Cowboys. Maybe now the local media will stop asking Scandrick if he regrets turning pro early.

  1. Reading today's Scott Slant, he mentions that there might be a bit of traction for the 5-year rule that Coach Pete has been talking about.

Imagine having those young guys for an additional year. That would be tremendous.

Not to mention, that we would have had Tadman for an additional year since he had to burn his redshirt when Chris Carr broke his collar bone in the 9th game of the season. Just think what Marty could have done with an additional year...

  2. Thanks, JH. We'll check it out. Maybe they can grandfather Tadman into the 5-year rule. Right? Right?

Scott Slant is always an interesting read. We're going to have a take on it tomorrow.
