ESPN's non-BCS power rankings released

The Broncos are No. 5 on the list of non-BCS teams. For now! (Cue haunting organ music.)

  1. Has everyone at ESPN lost their collective minds this week?

"The only thing that kept the Broncos out of the No. 4 spot is experience. Boise State lost a lot of talent from last season, especially on offense. But this is a team that is known for its ability to reload; just not sure it can push Fresno State off the WAC pedestal."

    My response is:

First ya we lost some key talent to the NFL, but weren't they both Juniors. That alone speaks highly of the talent on this team.

Also when was the last time Fresno State was on the WAC pedestal?

Tulsa "have the nation's most dynamic offense" when did that distinction get taken away from BSU?

Finally, when did Notre Dame get removed from the BCS, sure they are not guaranteed a BCS game each year, but clearly their run at a BCS bowl game does not demand the perfection teams like Boise State are required.

  2. Well put, JTR. Seeing the words "Tulsa" and "most dynamic offense" together is rather unsettling.

  3. I think that Western Michigan has the most dynamic offense. Since we are just arbitrarily assigning that distinction, anyway.
